Family Pensions

The island has no international hotels, but offers family-run guest houses (www.haere-mai.com). Some offer guided tours of Mangareva's neighbouring islands (Aukena, Akamaru, and Taravai), pearl farms, the village, underwater fauna and the mysterious grotto. Bicycles and scooters can also be hired from one of the guest houses.

There are two family pensions in Mangareva, however, there is no cash point or Bank and this guest houses accept only cash.
